Pre-wedding Shoot at Barton House, Oxfordshire

I had such a great shoot last week with Emma and Andy for their pre-wedding shoot.  The weather was beautiful and we had a gorgeous location at Barton House.  These two just rocked in their shoot - they looked perfect together and very much in love.  A full post will follow in time but for now here's a look at a few of the lovely images we captured.

Friday Foto - image of the week

Last month I had the pleasure of working on a fashion shoot for a local business - Hats Whiskers - to update images for their new website.  Hats Whiskers is owned and run by Sarah Main and Sarah has the most amazing range of beautiful hats for clients looking for something special to wear at a wedding or Ascot race day.  It was a fun day assisted by model Sarah Tarelton who was fanastic to photograph and fashion advice from Zoe Souter.

Introducing Fine Art Folios - the perfect way to display your prints

I'm delighted to introduce a new range of products for my clients - Fine Art Folios.

These gorgeous products are the bright idea of Andrea Dennis - lifestyle photographer and owner of Foxglove Fine Art Folios.  As a photographer herself Andrea has designed these Folios with the customer very much in mind and are suitable for displaying your favourite images of your children, family or wedding.

Each image is printed as a fine art photograph and mounted into a double or triple Folio and available in 3 sizes: 6 inch, 9 inch or 13 inch (size represents one side of the Folio).  They can also be a lovely way to display your engagement photographs or make great presents for your parents/grandparents.

The linen covers are available in a range of colours - suitable to coordinate with any home.  By careful choice of your cover you can really create an impact on your photographs.  I used Nixie - a mid-blue tone which co-ordinated beautifully with the colours in these wedding images and really emphasised the colours in the grooms kilt.

I'm introducing this product initially for my wedding clients and forms part of the new digital package for clients who do not wish to have a wedding album and is available now.  It comes with a matching DVD case which holds all the images from your day in hi-res and lo-res formats - allowing you to both print your own photographs and share images online.

Friday Foto - Why I love this image

During a wedding I am a story-teller;  looking for all the elements that tell the story of the day and part of that job is to capture the changing emotions …anticipation, excitement, pride, joy etc  Its also a day when a few tears can be shed, usually in happiness but also as here during the speeches when the father-of-the-bride made a very emotional speech about his late wife, the bride's mother. His words were very moving and I had to compose myself so I didn't get misty-eyed and miss this poignant moment.

Friday Foto - Why I love this image

I was sad to learn this week that our local bridal shop Cariad Bride,  Faringdon is due to close in the Autumn. Sue has run the business for the last 10+ years and many brides will have bought their wedding dress for their special day from her and experienced her great customer service. I have had the pleasure of getting to know Sue over the last couple of years and we worked together on a couple of styled shoots and frequently enjoyed a natter when I popped into her shop.    Unfortunately due to health problems Sue has decided to retire and her  knowledge and experience of the wedding business will be greatly missed by all, but I wish her well in her retirement and this next exciting chapter of her life.

For these reasons today's image of the week is specially chosen from a lovely shoot we at Merriscourt, a fabulous Cotswold wedding venue.  Organised by Jeni Crabb of Vanilla Rose Weddings & Events this is one of my favourites and shows off the lovely wedding dresses Sue provided for the day.

Actor/Model Casting Pro Headshots for Polly

A good friend's daughter has been a keen amateur actress for some time and needed some head shots for  submitting to casting agencies.  It's always nice working with friends and their families so when I was up in York last year I met up with Polly during her university holidays to take some images for her portfolio.  Here's a selection of what we shot.

Autumn Family Lifestyle shoot

I often run mini-lifestyle sessions in Autumn for clients wanting to get an update of images of their children.  The sessions are much shorter than the full lifestyle shoot but can work well for those who are looking for a great Christmas gift.  This session was bought for Sharon and Bobby as a Christmas present and they were able to enjoy a lovely woodland shoot and select 4 great images to be printed.

Their daughter Katie has modelled for me before and so it was lovely this time to be able to do a shoot of the whole family together.
